Every frame,
a life.

One time in high school, I asked my friend Tristan who he thinks the person closest to him is.

He responded by saying it changes from moment to moment. He recounted a vulnerable conversation he had with a friend and said, in that moment, he was closest to her. There was nothing in the world separating their connectedness. Even though they may not be the closest people to each other before or after that moment, during it, they are.

When someone has a conversation or interaction with another person where they are honest, listen, and express their feelings, for that period in time, they are the closest people to each other in the world.

In every interview I film, there is nothing separating the person I am interviewing from me and the camera. Temporarily, we become the closest people to each other.

When people watch my interviews, I hope they too experience this closeness. I hope that in the moments spent watching, there is nothing separating the emotional connection between the viewer and the person I've interviewed.

I hope I can bring that person closest to you.
